Synopsis
Abby and Chris, two young filmmakers, are awaiting the biggest moment of their careers: premiering their debut feature film at a world-renown festival. But that’s tomorrow… tonight they're stuck in a dingy motel room with a leaky ceiling and no bathroom. Glamorous indie filmmaking at its finest. They pass the time emptying out the mini-bar and fantasizing about the glitzy lives they will lead when their film sells. Alcohol and anticipation draw them close in the cozy motel room...But a desperate voice memo from a former crew member interrupts the moment: a rumor is spreading about their lead actor, James, implying that he assaulted another crew member during production. Chris is quick to believe it, but Abby defends James and questions the crew member's honesty. Their argument turns vicious and personal, with old wounds rupturing and repressed honesty finally coming out. The explosive fight is interrupted once again, this time by a knock at the door: James has arrived.James insists upon his innocence, but the tension between fact and fiction grows as Abby hears conflicting stories from Chris and James. Only hours away from the life-changing premiere of her film, Abby must decide who to believe and how to protect everything she has worked so hard to achieve.

Our Story
Our film takes inspiration from the many true stories of film productions that have descended into controversy and chaos. Sets are often depicted as creative havens, but they can be just as messy and complicated as the humans who work on them. Our goal was to encapsulate both the excitement and horror of modern filmmaking, building a mystery out of the complex power dynamics and hierarchies that form on film sets.In MEMO, secrets and lies are told in equal measure, but without them, we wouldn't have stories at all.
